Making Peter and the Starcatcher

Creating the starstuff

Peter and the Starcatcher features signature Dead Puppet Society creatures interwoven into the story. When reimagining the production, we were granted the opportunity to bring our innovative mix of puppet design and use of technology to the work. We wanted to embody the way that the piece expands the imagination by creating various design elements that stretch the notions of puppetry through object manipulation and costume design. All the puppets and props were crafted at Dead Puppet Society’s Fabrication Workshop in Brisbane.

Working for over 15 weeks, our team of 16 fabricators and makers crafted all of the creatures and props seen throughout the story, bringing the magic of Neverland to life.
