As visual theatre masterminds Dead Puppet Society prepare to open the new Tony Award winning production of Peter and the Starcatcher at Arts Centre Melbourne, we are once again offering the opportunity to connect with Victorian based Artists and Educators through a professional development and artist training masterclass for participants at all stages of their practice.
This masterclass will break down the visual theatre tools and processes utilised in every Dead Puppet Society rehearsal process to equip Artists and Arts Educators with practical skills to transform their own creative practice or classroom.
With a focus on the making of Peter and the Starcatcher, participants will cover Dead Puppet Society’s principles of manipulation, and build short works using design elements and puppet creatures.
Participants will be mentored through the making of scenes utilising ensemble performance techniques, hand operated lighting, exquisite worldbuilding and foley.
This professional development addresses the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers 2.1, 3.3, 6.2 and 7.4.
